Hypnotherapy & Guided Imagery
Hypnosis works on the premise that we already have all the answers within us. It can help open up the mind’s willingness to share its wisdom with you. By creating a relaxing environment conducive to occupying the conscious mind, some of the usual obstacles to creative thinking and problem solving are removed. The mind becomes more open to suggestions and more willing to try different ways of approaching a challenge.
Hypnosis is not about a practitioner controlling you. You have full control throughout the hypnosis process. In fact, you will never engage with an idea that you are not willing to try. There are many myths in the media about hypnosis. If conducted by a trained professional who follows ethical guidelines, hypnosis can be a helpful treatment modality.
Hypnosis can be utilized for a variety of challenges. Whether you are considering hypnosis for symptom reduction or improvements in your performance, we can discuss whether hypnosis may be helpful for you.
A hypnotic state cannot be achieved by everyone. It requires a safe environment and a trusting relationship. This can be accomplished over time while we get to know one another and I can begin to earn your trust through professional and genuine interactions.
It also requires a willingness and an open attitude. Since the conscious mind is so active in our decision-making, we need to engage it in focused activities, usually imagery, so that we can access the subconscious and unconscious parts of the mind.
Open up the mind’s willingness to share its wisdom with you.
We will begin with guided imagery that will progressively move you deeper into a state of trance, which you can come out of at any time you choose.
Imagery can be a powerful tool to help create change. Even if hypnosis is not accessible for you, guided imagery practices can move you in the direction of desired change. Research has shown statistically significant improvements in performance when the participants imagined successful outcomes. Seeing yourself achieve the desired results through imagery practice can increase your confidence and ultimately your actions.
